The Black and White Print Making Story
Behind Jim Marshall’s unparalleled eye for his genre, and the timeless fine art prints that result from it, lies the highest level of printmaking craft. Whether it’s an iconic image, or a little-known rarity, each print sold by Marshallphoto.com is produced by a three-man crew that’s been working together for a collective 47 years.
While it all begins with Jim’s small arsenal of Leica rangefinder cameras (with the occasional help from a Hasselblad medium-format and a Nikon SLR) and Kodak Tri-X film, Jim’s collaborators play key roles in ensuring that each Marshall print not only has the detail, balance, depth-of-field, and “feel” of the original, but is carefully mounted and matted using archival, museum-quality techniques and materials.
Your Jim Marshall print will add richness to your home, become a topic of conversation among friends and provide years of aesthetic satisfaction. It is a collectible piece of art that will continue to gain in value for decades to come.
Each print is custom-made to order, and is typically ready to ship within two weeks of the order date. Please note, in certain cases a Platinum or Dye Transfer print may already be in stock. If so, customers will be notified and the print will ship sooner than the standard lead time.
